Aero Sekur is a specialist supplier of safety systems and advanced flexible materials to the global aerospace and defence markets. The company has extensive manufacturing and R&D facilities in Italy and representation worldwide. The core competency of the business is the design and development of advanced engineered structures using flexible materials.   

Aero Sekur was formed in 1993 by the merger of Irvin Aerospace (founded in 1968) and the Sekur division of Pirelli, bringing together 40 years of experience in parachutes, NBC equipment, aircraft fuel tanks and complex flexible structures.  It was in this year that the business moved into its current, modern, purpose-built factory approximately 40 km south of Rome, Italy.

With specialist manufacturing areas for each of its product lines and a high level of environmental control in the manufacturing areas, Aero Sekur exceeds all current environmental legislation and provides a clean, safe and organised working environment. Manufacturing plant includes autoclaves, CNC material cutting equipment, automated sewing machines, moulding presses, and fuel tank test facilities (including pressure test).

We pay particular attention to the professional development of our engineers and scientists. Courses and collaborative projects with local universities and colleges not only develop additional skills and knowledge, but enhance the capability of the business to ensure it stays at the leading edge of technology.

In-house design is undertaken using Catia and Unigraphics software, but we can accept and utilise data in any of the current formats.

The company has also invested heavily in its facilities, which include a recent laboratory upgrade to provide full chemical and physical analysis capability. In addition, product development facilities include clean rooms (for sterile prototype build and test), prototyping, product test, environmental and life test equipment.

With a large number of highly qualified engineers, material scientists and technicians  working in a fully equipped facility we are able to provide specialist skills in the design and development of aircraft, helicopter and space systems. Our capabilities extend to advanced static and dynamic analysis of flexible structures together with the development of new materials. This ensures optimisation of the design process and a significant reduction in time, cost and risk on new projects.
